Very Rev. Dr. Edward Pehanich
Very Rev. Dr. Edward Pehanich is a graduate of Marywood University, Christ the Savior Seminary, and the Doctor of Ministry Program at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary. He is a Diplomate in Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy and is the Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor and Pastoral Counselor at Family Hospice & Palliative Care in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the pastor of St. Gregory of Nyssa Church in Seaford Long Island, N.Y. from 1985-2004 and is currently the pastor of both St. Nicholas Church in Monongahela, PA and St. Nicholas Church in Jacobs Creek, PA of the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese in North America. Fr. Ed, his wife, Pani Kathy, and their daughter Irene, live in Monongahela, PA.
Nick, his wife Amanda and three year old Son, Scotty live in Rochester Hills, MI. He was most recently the Pastoral Assistant at St. John the Baptist in Sterling Heights, MI. Previously, Nick was the Young Adult Ministries Coordinator for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. He has been a camp goer every summer since he was seven, spending almost 60 weeks of his life there (more than an entire year). He graduated from Michigan State University in May of 2009. Immediately upon graduation, he moved to Indianapolis where he worked for Orthodox Christian Fellowship. Nick graduated from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology with a Masters in Divinity in 2013. He has dedicated a great deal of effort and talent toward young adult ministry and hopes to continue to cultivate it in new and creative ways with his role in the church. Most recently, his specialty in young adult ministry has allowed him to help create opportunities for young adults in the Detroit area to stay connected to Christ and His Church during turbulent times. Ultimately, Nick prays he can live out an Orthodox Christian vocation by answering Christ’s call to love God with all that he is and by loving his neighbor as himself in every situation he is in.
